Parameter estimate for three-parameter kappa distribution using LHmoments approach

چکیده

The method of higher-order L-moments (LH-moment) was proposed as a more robust alternative compared to classical characterize extreme events. new derivation will be done for Mielke-Johnson’s Kappa and Three-Parameters Type-II (K3D-II) distributions based on the LH-moments approach. data maximum monthly rainfall Embong station in Terengganu were used case study. analyses conducted using with η=0 methods η=1, η=2, η=3 η=4 complete series upper parts distributions. most suitable determined Mean Absolute Deviation Index (MADI), Square (MSDI), Correlation (r). Also, L-moment LH-moment ratio diagrams represent visual proofs results. analysis showed that at higher order K3D-II distribution best fit rainfalls L-moments. results also proved whenever η increases, reflect characteristics part distribution. This seems suggest estimates events are superior fitting rainfalls.
